The Fort Lauderdale Surgical Society is an educational organization which consists of physicians practicing in the greater Fort Lauderdale area.
It started in 1959 as a Journal Club for surgeons. Membership has grown from the eight original members to 141 members today.
At each meeting, there is a didactic lecture and dinner. Members also discuss current local issues which keep them up to date with new procedures and techniques.
There are usually 9 meetings a year. The last meeting is the Business Meeting when new Fellows are admitted and new Officers are elected.
